Abstract

The brick industry is a crucial sector in construction that requires special attention to occupational health and safety. The background of this research is the high risk of accidents and work-related illnesses faced by workers in this industry. This study aims to identify factors that affect occupational health and safety and propose measures to create a safer and healthier work environment. The research method used is a descriptive method with a quantitative and qualitative approach. Data were collected through questionnaire surveys filled out by workers and managers in the brick industry, as well as in-depth interviews with selected workers. Additionally, direct field observations were conducted to see the actual working conditions. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistical techniques to understand patterns and trends from the survey results. The results of the study indicate that several key factors affecting occupational health and safety are the lack of safety training, inadequate equipment conditions, and unhygienic working environments. It is hoped that the results of this research can serve as a basis for policy improvement and the implementation of strategic measures to create a healthier and safer working environment for workers in the brick industry.
